Berry Lemon Infused Vodka Recipe

Ingredients

1 (750 ml) bottle premium vodka
1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
½ cup fresh raspberries
½ cup fresh blueberries
2 medium lemons
1 tablespoon honey, optional
1 large sterilized glass jar with a tight-fitting lid

Preparation

Step 1: Prepare the Fruit

Wash the strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries thoroughly. Pat them completely dry with paper towels. Slice the strawberries into smaller pieces to expose more surface area for infusion.

Step 2: Prepare the Lemons

Wash the lemons well and dry them completely. Using a vegetable peeler, remove only the yellow zest, avoiding as much of the bitter white pith as possible.

Step 3: Fill the Jar

Place the strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, and lemon zest into a clean, sterilized glass jar. If you prefer a slightly sweeter infusion, stir in the honey before adding the vodka.

Step 4: Add the Vodka

Pour the vodka over the fruit until everything is completely submerged. Seal the jar tightly.

Step 5: Infuse the Vodka

Store the jar in a cool, dark place for 5 to 7 days. Gently shake the jar once each day to help distribute the flavors evenly.

Step 6: Taste and Adjust

Begin tasting after the fifth day. If a stronger berry flavor is desired, continue infusing for another one to three days.

Step 7: Strain the Vodka

Pour the infused vodka through a fine-mesh strainer lined with cheesecloth or a coffee filter into a clean bottle. Discard the fruit and lemon zest.

Step 8: Bottle and Store

Transfer the finished Berry Lemon Infused Vodka into sterilized glass bottles. Store in the refrigerator or a cool, dark cabinet until ready to enjoy.

Notes

For the brightest flavor, use fresh, ripe seasonal berries.

Avoid using the white lemon pith, which can make the infusion bitter.

A premium vodka produces the smoothest finished infusion.

If you prefer a stronger citrus flavor, add the zest of a third lemon.

Frozen berries may be substituted if fresh berries are unavailable, although fresh fruit generally provides the clearest infusion.

Serve chilled, over ice, with sparkling water, lemonade, tonic water, or use it as the base for martinis and fruit-forward cocktails.

Properly stored, this infused vodka maintains its best flavor for up to 3 months.
